He defeated Twitch streamer and Pokerstars Online Pro Jaime Staples after they made a three-way deal with Patrick Knipple. They each locked up $4,000 and played for $960 and the trophy.

Knipple went down playing 2-7 Triple Draw after he as unable to improve against Gordon's nine-eight. Heads-up play between Staples and Gordon didn't last long as Gordon rivered a flush with the same card that gave Staples a straight! Gordon was overcome with emotion after finally taking down his first RIU tournament after going deep on many occasions.

The final table was stacked, as expected in 8-Game, and saw Jason 'JCarver' Somerville make yet another final table, bowing out in 7th place.
