Day 1a of the Run it Up Reno Main Event is done and Jesse Capps bagged the chip lead with 241,600. He was leading going into the homestretch, but in the final four hands he extended his lead.
He busted Jason Somerville when Jason shoved pocket fives with just under ten big blinds. Capps called from the blinds with queen-ten and made a ten-high straight to eliminate Jason. Jesse then rivered another straight, this time of the six-high variety to eliminate another player. He used the last hands of Day 1a to extend his lead over the second biggest stack, held by Shae Mayner.
Team Chewy bagged for Day 2 with Albert Ng bagging 46,400 and Melissa Wang bagging 39,700. David Williams finshed the day as the short stack and will enter Day 2 with 12,900 unless he decides to try and run up a big stack in Day 1b. Andy Camou (AndyTheTimid) was the lone Mac and Cheese Bounty left standing after play today. He finished the day with 107,700. Nathan Manuel (JimmiesBoss) was the first of the MNC Bounties to hit the rail. Aaron Schoch surely rode the MNC Bounty Wave of Excitement all the way to bagging 174,000 -- the fourth largest stack of the day. The rest of the MNC Bounties are expected to play tomorrow in Day 1b at noon.
Vanessa Kade, Defending RIU Reno Main Event Champion Blake Vincent, Two-Time RIU Trophy winner Jimmy Cappucci (Untitled2jc), and Vincert Gregory (Vintroverted) all fired and missed on Day 1a. It would not be a surprise to see any, or all, of them in the field tomorrow.
