8-Game 6-Max Kicks Off Day 4 of Run It Up Reno!

Welcome to  Day 4 of Run it Up Reno! Thursday, October 27, has plenty of fun and excitement, and will be a fitting way to hit the halfway point of the series.

We start things off in less than an hour with the $235 8-Game 6-Max Championship, those eight games being Deuce-to-Seven Triple-Draw, NLH, PLO, and your usual HORSE events. While PokerStars typically refers to this format as THORSEHA, the acronym HORSEHAT is available and significantly better. In any case, mixed game masters like Razz and HORSE WSOP bracelet winner Rep Porter and last night's HORSE champion Harry Corvese will be joined by dozens of fellow competitors in the prestigious championship event. Mixed games require a certain level of proficiency in and of themselves. Winning this particular event will certainly be a feather in the winner's cap, as not only do you need to be competent in eight different forms of poker, but you also need to be able to shift in and out of strategies for different variants. We'll put a HORSEHAT on the victor come this evening!

After the 8-Game, this afternoon features the 5pm Team NLH Event. Teams of two, three, or four players will play one chip stack and alternate play over the course of the event. Each teammate must check in at their table prior to the end of registration and play at least 1 orbit around the table to be a legal team. The camaraderie and community aspect of RIU makes this Team event one to keep an eye on, particularly to see how the winners split the trophy!

My guess is a band saw...

Tonight's $85 5-Card PLO 6-Max, sometimes called "Big O," is a favorite among Warriors. Jason himself won a very similar event, the $ 125 Pot Limit Omaha 5 Card Turbo 6-Max, at a previous Run it Up Reno not but twelve months ago! We'll see how JCarver and friends do tonight as the tournaments wind down and we hit our big weekend Main Event Day 1A tomorrow.

Don't forget to join us for our mini-seminar with Jason later tonight as well as the ever-popular cash game hangouts in the Peppermill Casino Poker Room late in the evening, and we'll see you on the floor of Run it Up Reno!
