The clock has struck 3:15pm, and that means that registration has closed in the noon $235 NLH Black Chip Bounty Knockout. The event registered a whopping 167 entries and as Level 10 begins 60 players remain in the hunt for the title.
One of the players out to a good start in the tournament is Ruben "RubenSoliz6" Soliz. With just over 65,000, Soliz is one of about a half dozen players in that chip range, though none of the others with that impressive chip stack have 3-time WSOP bracelet winner Rep Porter to tangle with at their table, so Soliz has his work cut out for him.
Just in front of the 65,000 pack is another one of the chip leaders: Steve Nevius. Steve is holding serve at a table that also includes Run it Up mom Deb Swift and All-In Or Fold runner-up Brandan "BDBoxers" DeLaney. Nevius, easily identifiable in the tournament hall by his fashionable taste in accessories and hoodies, has nearly 75,000 in tournament chips.
But way out in front is a familiar face: Kevin "KGerhart" Gerhart. The long-time Warrior and Vegas local is way out in front just like he was in the Kickoff event a couple days ago. Kevin is the only player in the six-digit range, with 110,000 early in Level 11, with blinds at 1,000/2,000 and antes sitting at 300.
